Every little piece of information is important in the gaming industry. Game companies need to be very careful about everything they do so that there isn’t any vital information that gets spilled out. For example, a recent job listing is hinting towards the fact that Treyarch is preparing to launch “Call of Duty: Black Ops 4” in 2018.
Treyarch Job Listing
A bunch of job listings have been posted on the game developer’s official site. Moreover, the job listing’s description has sparked speculation that the upcoming Call of Duty game will be set in a Modern Era. Things get even better since the job listing asks for previous experience in designing triple-A competitive shooters. As if this couldn’t be clearer that Treyarch is talking about Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, one of the requirements for this job is to have a deep knowledge base in modern military technology and firearms.
Job Applicants Need to be Prestige 1 in Black Ops 3
The most interesting requirement that applicants need to have in order to get this job is to have prestige 1 in Black Ops 3 multiplayer. Asking for prestige in the previous Black Ops game is actually a wise decision since it shows that developers are fans of the game franchise and that they know how the mechanics work at a higher level.
Taking in consideration that Treyarch is already gathering a team of high skilled developers, this means that Treyarch already knows what it wants to do with Call of Duty: Black Ops 4. The game’s launch date is going to be determined by the rate at which these developers manage to create it. Therefore, we can be sure that the game will drop somewhere around 2018, but we don’t know what month.
