Google Nexus 6P and Nexus 5X have been removed from Google Support home page, as the company is doing its best to push users towards the Pixel phones.
Android 8.0 O to be the last major operating system for Nexus 6P and Nexus 5X
Just a little while ago, Google announced that Android 8.0 O is the last major operating system that users of Nexus 6P and Nexus 5X will be receiving. The company mentioned in the same update that starting from September 2018 the two Nexus phones will not be supported anymore in any way. They will not be supported with software updates nor through online or telephone customer care.
Google has another attempt to push aside the Nexus 6P and the Nexus 5X, and as a result, the company is not listing the two Nexus devices on Google’s official support page. The page still features the Pixel phone and the rest of Google’s services including Chrome, YouTUbe, Gmail, Maps, Drive, AdSense, Photos, and Search.
All these listings are nothing more than shortcuts for accessing their support pages for each Google product.
Google Nexus 6P and Google Nexus 5X were previously able to be accessed from the page through the shortcut for Nexus phone. But from now on, the shortcut is no longer available on Google’s page.
On the other hand, you can still perform a manual search for the Nexus phone in order to be able to open the support page for the two devices mentioned above.
It’s important that users remember the fact that Google confirmed that September 2018 would be the last date that Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P will receive software updates and also customer support (via online or telephone).
