A few months ago Android Wear became Wear OS, a renewed version of the operating system, which includes some new features and a design change. Despite the name change, few things have changed in the smartwatch ecosystem. Now, however, a new smartwatch arrives on the market, namely, the Huawei Watch 2 (2018), the renewal of the Chinese smartwatches brands.
This Huawei Watch 2 (2018) follows the pattern that the firm’s previous model set. There are very subtle changes, although it is not a renewal or revolutionary product for the Chinese brand.

Huawei Watch 2 (2018) weighs 57 grams and boasts an AMOLED 1.2-inch display.
Under the hood, this new Huawei smartwatch packs a Snapdragon 2100 chipset, 768 Mb RAM, and 4 Gb internal storage.
Huawei Watch 2 (2018) comes with Wear OS, 802.11n Wifi, Bluetooth 4.1 LE, and NFC connectivity.
In terms of sensors, this watch boasts GPS, heart rate, accelerometer, gyroscope, and barometer.
The smartwatch comes with a 420 mAh battery, is water and dust resistant IP68, and has nano SIM or e-SIM adaptable slot.
The reality is that the main change is the operating system, the new Wear OS, which gives some different functions to the users and a more enjoyable interface.
But, under the hood, the new Huawei Watch 2 (2018) comes out without bringing anything new in comparison the last year’s model.
Thus, it’s surprising that the Chinese brand has decided to launch a new watch with so few new features on the market.
Huawei Watch 2 (2018) – Price
The price of the basic version is 1538 Yuan (roughly $239). Also, a 4G version of the new Huawei Watch 2 (2018) smartwatch will be available at the price of 1988 yuan, that is roughly $310.
It will be available in black, orange and black & yellow.
