Instagram is one of the world’s most popular apps with millions of daily users. This app used to be a simple platform where people would take cool pictures, add some filters to make them more special and then upload them for everyone to see. However, Instagram has evolved to be so much more than that! In fact, people spend so much time on Instagram that it’s considered dangerous for them.
Instagram New Feature
As previously mentioned, Instagram has been constantly evolving along the years. It once was just an app where people uploaded their “artsy” pictures, but now it is used to share stories and much more. This caused people to spend more and more time on Instagram and the app’s co-founder Kevin Systrom decided to introduce a new feature which is going to help people regulate how much time they spend on Instagram.
The new feature is called Usage Insights and its going to show people just how much time they spend on the app. This feature is disabled by default, but interested Instagram users who feel like they are wasting too much time browsing through boomerangs, pictures and stories can enable it to see when they need to close the app.
Instagram Co-Founder Speaks Out
“Understanding how time online impacts people is important, and it’s the responsibility of all companies to be honest about this. We want to be part of the solution. I take that responsibility seriously. We’re building tools that will help the Instagram community know more about the time they spend on Instagram – any time should be positive and intentional.” Said Kevin Systrom.
We should mention that Google also introduced new time management controls to its Android devices and that Apple will do the same thing in hopes of helping iOS users regulate how much time they spend online.
