Microsoft has been a company which has been coming out with several updates and upgrades for their existing services and devices, and has been broadening their horizons with every passing day.

However, Microsoft has found itself in a tough spot in recent times, especially when one looks at the hardware markets. Microsoft is a relative newcomer in the markets, and has been bleeding out profusely when one looks at the Microsoft Mobiles division.

The company in mid-2015 was reported to have lost out nearly $8 Billion with the Microsoft Mobiles deal, and 7800 employees had to be let off. However, the new reports are equally saddening –

As per reports from TechRadar, Microsoft managed to sell only 4.5 million Windows phones in the second fiscal quarter of 2016, down from the 10.5 million it sold during the same 90 days a year ago. Contrast that with the record 74.8 million iPhones sold by Apple.

This puts Microsoft in quite a tough spot. The company is now expected to come out with the Lumia 650 in the next few days, and this phone is already being expected as ‘the last Lumia’ device.

While Microsoft continues to face a major backlash in the mobile phones markets, the company is indeed doing well in the markets of the surface devices ,and it now appears to be that Microsoft will soon be doing away with the Lumia series and will be starting off with the Surface series of mobile phones.

The concept of a surface mobile has been around for quite a long while, but not much is known about it so far. Microsoft is expected to release the Surface Phone around October this year, and that is finally expected to bring back some glory to the windows mobiles, which the Lumia division has completely lost.

The Lumia 650 is expected to come out with a large, 5.5 inched screen and will run on the Snapdragon 410 processor, according to speculations. The phone is expected to run on 1GB of RAM along with 8GB of internal storage.

Microsoft will release the phone with Windows 10 OS out of the box, and it is expected that the battery life of the device would be around 3000mAh.

The pricing details for the Lumia 650 remain unclear and it is currently being anticipated to be priced in at around $235. Stay tuned with us for more updates!
