Microsoft has changed its strategy when it comes to devices with Windows (Phone) and instead of six series covering a wide variety of specifications and prices, opted for only two.
Series 9xx terminals with top technical features received two new members by models Microsoft Lumia 950 and Microsoft Lumia 950 XL, which applies to those who like phones with large screens that will want to have a great experience with both apps and games .
On the other hand, Microsoft Lumia 550 portfolio completes basic phones that put price first and offer low-end hardware platforms. These phones are suitable for less demanding users with a limited budget, but wanting to taste and experience a Windows mobile platform.
Microsoft Lumia 950 is the new reference phone from Microsoft, but retains its predecessors’ design and construction of polycarbonate which has accustomed us. One of the improvements is however slightly saturated colors AMOLED screen: diagonal rose to 5.2″ and the resolution is QHD (2560 × 1440 pixels). The hardware platform is surprisingly strong: Microsoft chose Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset 808, the second most powerful from the American producer, and has 3 GB of RAM and internal memory of 32 GB. It is an interesting method that extends Microsoft practical usefulness of a phone and this feature is not found in any other manufacturer.
The phone relies on a battery 3000 mAh Li-Ion and will be released in November for a price of 550 dollars in the United States.
Microsoft Lumia 950 XL – Strong Phablet
As the name suggests, Lumia 950 XL is a larger screen version of the Lumia 950. The phone keeps virtually the same design, but offers a display of 5.7 inches. There are some subtle differences in hardware, whereas 950 XL uses a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 chipset, the revised version that does not have so many problems with overheating and graphics Adreno 430. Unfortunately, the price is very high. In the US, the phone will cost $650.
Microsoft continues to launch products in the smartphone segment, but with a new strategy based on two main niches and fewer product launches.
It is therefore expected that the Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 Microsoft XL remain the major smartphone manufacturer’s range for a fairly long period of time. Both offers performance to match and function. Continuum could attract new users to the Windows Mobile platform.
Meanwhile, Microsoft remains connected and the price-sensitive segment users by Lumia 550, a model with a good screen and a decent hardware platform.
