Microsoft Underestimates the Demand of Xbox Elite Controller

It seems that the billion dollar company did not understand the brilliance of the latest pro gamer focused console “Xbox Elite controller”.

The controller was launched for Xbox One consoles and windows PC’s before the start of November.

Since the launch of Xbox Elite, the controller has been going out of stock in the markets on a regular basis. The unexpectedly high sales of this amazing but costly controller were confirmed by Microsoft itself.

The company released a statement through Tech Insider saying “While the Xbox Elite Wireless Controller is sold out in many retailers around the world”, Microsoft further added, “We are working quickly to get more units in the hands of fans.

We expect more units to arrive at retailers each week but supply may be limited through March 2016.”

Microsoft can’t seem to fulfill the demand of the Elite controller which they thought was too expensive. The controller is selling at $ 150 (10,000 Rs.).

Chris Capossela, the chief marketing officer at Microsoft in an online interview admitted that the product was hugely underestimated by Microsoft, he added if he could have built 10 times the number they build, he would have done it.

The reason was, the feedback at E3 claimed it was “awesome” but the price was a little too high which directly affected how much they built, claimed Mr. Capossela.

The retailers were afraid that the device won’t sell because of its high price, but it is haunting them back as most of them are reporting complete lack of inventory.
