Nokia Smartphones New Images Leaked

A few images have been leaked on the web that shows a Nokia smart phone with an all metal body, this might be one of the devices that Nokia could launch this year.

Keeping in mind that there was a clause in the Microsoft Nokia buyout which was a no compete clause. The no compete clause prevents Nokia from launching any smart phones under the brand name Nokia, this clause was supposed to end on December 31st of 2015.

However, the executives at Nokia previously have given the confirmation that the terms of the agreement states that Nokia will not be able to sell any smart phones under their brand name before the fourth quarter of 2016.

This indicates that the no compete clause was extended by both the companies without doing any public announcements.

Rajeev Suri, the CEO of Nokia has confirmed last year in July that Nokia is looking to come back in the smart phone markets, Mr. Suri also confirmed that the Finnish Tech firm will look to sign an agreement with a manufacturer.

This Manufacturer will be responsible for mainly the manufacturing, distribution and the sales of the Nokia smart phones.

On an interesting note, the same kind of strategy was adopted by Nokia for its N1 tablet. In that instance, the Finnish tech firm signed the agreement with Foxconn.

The leaked images by a Weibo user shows a Nokia smart phone which is black colored from the front, back and the sides.

There are two antenna lines at the top and the bottom at the back along with a camera placed at the top center and a flash situated above the camera.

At the back panel we can see the company logo at the center. The slot for SIM card and quite possibly a slot for microSD both are situated on the left and on the other side there is the power button and the volume button. On the top at the front a speaker grille below which there is a Nokia logo situated.

The back is sealed and taking hints from the side panels all points towards some IP ratings. Sadly there is no word on the specifications or even when the yet to be announced smart phone is set to be released.

The design in these images contradicts with those we saw earlier of Nokia C1.
