While most smartphone users are accustomed to larger displays, many Apple enthusiasts are waiting to get their hands on the iPhone SE 2, which is said to come with a more “classic” screen size.
The iPhone 5 was released in September 2012 and, for that time, it had a revolutionary design, comfortable size for single-handed use, and a 4-inch screen.
Meanwhile, most modern phones have a display of between 5.5 and 6 inches in diagonal size.
Launched in March 2016, the iPhone SE took all the best from the functionality and handling of an iPhone 5S. After more than two years, that feature and performance package is no longer as current.
iPhone SE2 Release Date
Rumors about the iPhone SE 2 have been on the Internet for years. The latest set of speculation on the subject came from a Japanese publication.
Obviously, these details should be taken only as rumors but offered some hopes for the Apple’s fans.
Apparently, the iPhone SE 2 will be launched in May this year, although its name, “SE2”, is not yet officially set. It is not excluded that the new handset to be dubbed as simply as “SE 2018”.
iPhone SE2 – Specs And Prices
It will be the cheapest iPhone in the company’s current portfolio.
The design will be very similar to the first-generation iPhone SE but, on the back, it will have glass to facilitate wireless charging. The stereo 3.5-mm headphones jack will be removed, unfortunately.
The new iPhone SE is rumored to come with a 4.5-inch display, 12MP rear camera, and 1.2MP selfies camera.
The front panel, also, is rumored to come with Touch ID technology but, most probably, the Home button will not be present.
Under the hood, iPhone SE2 will boast an Apple A10 Fusion chipset (the same SoC used in the iPhone 7), 2GB RAM, and 32 GB storage. As iPhone 7 continues to behave fairly well with the latest firmware, on a smaller display it will perform even better, therefore, it would be nice to see these rumors confirmed.
