Samsung Galaxy J7 2018 Certified Before Official Launch – Details Inside

Samsung does a pretty bad job when it comes to keeping secrets related to future smartphone models. That is why it should not come off as a surprise that details about the Samsung Galaxy J7 2018 got published before its official launch.

Every day, new rumors float in the online space related to the unreleased devices from top manufacturers. Taking into consideration the very alert rhythm in which the South Korean company announces new devices and after rumors related to the Galaxy A6 and A6 Plus, now we get details about the imminent Samsung Gaalxy J7 2018.

As it seems, the future gadget has been recently certified by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), the American Authority through which all electronic devices go before going on the U.S.A. market.

Variants & Design

In the case of Samsung Galaxy J7 2018, the smartphone was certified with the codename “SM-J720” and with a few versions: M, D/DS, F, F/DS.

Most probably, DS is a reference to the dual-sim variants of the same device. Although the FCC certificate documents go online in their entirety, rarely do they help you form a clear image about the abilities of a phone.

This time, however, the document includes the exact dimensions of the device. We are talking about 153mm x 76mm for the whole device, with a 162mm wide diagonal. Of this whole surface, the screen has a 140mm (5.5 inch) wide diagonal.

Hardware specifications

More proof of the fact that we do not have to wait that long until it gets launched is the certification from Bluetooth SIG and Wi-Fi Alliance. Because it was basically unavoidable for it to not show up on Geekbench, the benchmark site is giving us a few extra particularities about the Samsung Galaxy J7 2018’s hardware.

Under the codename SM-J720F, the smartphone seems to run under Android 8.0. On the inside, it is hiding an SoC Exynos 7885 processor, tuned to 1.6GHz and with 3GB RAM. The Graphics Processing Unit is a Mali-G71. Although it has not been oficially unveiled to this ate, Exynos 7885 is the same SoC we are going to see in the Samsung Galaxy A5 2018.
