2017 is a very good year for smartphone lovers as many models and brands have released very good quality devices. Samsung’s Galaxy Note 8, Essential Phone and OnePlus 5 are definitely setting high standards for Apple’s iPhones.
Samsung Galaxy Note 8
This new smartphone released by Samsung uses Android 7.1.1. (Nougat) operating system and has 195g and 8.6 mm. The device is top notch with GSM/HSPA/LTE technology, and Qualcomm MSM8998 Snapdragon 835 processor. The Galaxy 8 is build of Gorrila Glass 5 back panel and it has a Super AMOLED touchscreen with 16M colors.
The display has 6.3 inches and 1440×2960 pixels. Other specifications include Octa-core CPU, 6GB of RAM, microSD card slot up to 156 GB, 5.0 Bluetooth and Quick Charge 2.0 battery.
This Android smartphone was developed by Essential Products, belonging to Andy Rubin (Android’s co-founder). The device was released this year on the 30th of May and it has a titanium and ceramic body. The edge-to-edge display is protected by a Gorilla Glass 5 and it has a dual camera lens setup. Those passionate about photography can really enjoy the monochrome sensor for black and white photography and even a 360 degree camera can be attached to the phone. The frontal camera has s 8 MP sensor and the rear facing cameras have an f/1.85 aperture lens.
The Chinese smartphone manufacturer OnePlus has also released a much appreciated device: the OnePlus 5 smartphone. A successor of the OnePlus 3T, the device was released on the 20th of July. The OnePlus 5 comes equipped with a Snapdragon 835 chipset, 8GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage. The anodized metal back makes the phone both resistant and elegant. The colors available are Midnight Black, Slate Gray and Soft Gold.
