Samsung Galaxy S7 Comes With Exynos 8 Octa 8890 Chipset


After just one week ago Samsung revealed the Exynos Octa chipset series, as the basis of next generation mobile devices, they are now presenting the first member of this family – the Exynos 8 Octa 8890. Made using a 14 nm manufacturing process and FinFET transistors technology, this is the first deployment of the system that puts the main processor and LTE modem on the same silicon chip, achieving significant savings of space and energy consumption.

Reserved for the next generation of Galaxy S7 phones, prepared for launch in February 2016, the Exynos 8 Octa 8890 chipset is the second model developed using the 14 nm manufacturing process and FinFET Transistor technology, after Exynos 7 Octa 7420.

With the introduction of Exynos 8890 CPU new design, Samsung renounces the services offered by ARM Holdings in favor of a custom chipset according their own requirements. In addition, the new LTE modem now benefits from Cat. 12 and Cat. 13 certification, promising speeds up to 600 Mbps in download and 150 Mbps in upload.

Exynos chipset 8 Octa 8890 will go into production before the end of this year, hoping that stocks be sufficient to allow for the new Galaxy S7 to debut in February 2016.

On the other hand, reports confirms that Apple would make up OLED displays in the near future. As GForGames writes, a Samsung official had suggested that there is a possibility that Apple become one of the company’s customers through the acquisition of OLED screens.

Currently, Samsung Display needs to strengthen its business and therefore needs to form partnerships with other companies. Samsung would be in talks with several major manufacturers in China, but they could never replace the image of Apple. In its opinion, a partnership with Apple would be extremely important.

If Apple and Samsung stars to work in this respect, new displays could be implemented on Apple mobiles from 2018.
