Galaxy S7 could be released in no less than three versions – standard, Galaxy S7 Edge and a phablet with a giant screen like the Galaxy Mega series, but with curved edges.
Rumors launched by anonymous sources, but with close connections among Samsung partners, are reinforced with concrete evidence, consisting of diagrams of the phone’s housing provided to Samsung Galaxy S7 accessories manufacturers. According to them, one of the variants Galaxy S7 will come in 143.37 x 70.8 x 6.94 mm dimensions and the other 163.32 x 82.01 x 7.82mm.
Far from being officially established, the preliminary list of specifications for the Galaxy S7 puts in the spotlight the Snapdragon 820 chipset from Qualcomn and the introduction of the Exynos 8890 developed by Samsung, the first variant is expected to approach and even exceed in certain situations the A9 from Apple and is said to be the most powerful chipset used on mobile phones so far.
The standard Galaxy S7 version is expected to offer a 5.1 inch Super AMOLED screen with QHD resolution (2560×1440 pixel), 4GB RAM, 8MP front camera and a 25 MP main camera with dual-LED flash and 4K shooting function. Judging by the housing size and history far, Samsung may launch Galaxy S7 in several versions, with 16GB, 32GB, 64GB internal memory and microSD slot, equipped with a 3500 mAh battery.
Regarding the time interval when the Galaxy S7 is said be launched, people expect it to follow a similar course as the last year’s model, with a formal presentation in February just before the start of the Mobile World Congress 2016 (February 21 to 22) exhibition, followed by the launch in stores a few weeks later, or earlier if there are no supply problems or other incidents during the manufacturing process.
