The Samsung Galaxy S7 is the upcoming device that the Korean giant plans to launch this year. A
lthough the S6 did not fare as well as the S6 Edge and its plus variant did, we are hoping that the S7 might be a Flagship people will respect. Samsung is also, reportedly bringing up the release date from April to February or March 2015.
Design differences are of course, inevitable. The company has had the reputation of delivering better handsets each year. The design is also going to be quite different from what was seen back in the Samsung Galaxy S6.
The fingerprint scanner will continue to remain, as the new devices are going to have the Samsung Pay facility in them, and the size of the device might also see an increase.
An AMOLED display of 5.1 inches is being expected, with a resolution of 2560×1440 pixels with 576 ppi. The device will be fixed with Corning Gorilla Glass 5. The device is also expected to be a little slimmer than before.
Under the hood, there will be subtle changes than before. While the S6 featured the Snapdragon 810 processor and faced overheating issues, the Galaxy S7 is going to come up with the Snapdragon 820 SoC in the device.
There is going to be another model of the device that will work with Samsung’s own Exynos processor, Exynos 8 Octa 8890.
The Graphics card will be Mali-T880 MP12 or Adreno 530. A 4GB RAM is being envisioned for the device that will make it more powerful than we ever expected it to be.
In terms of memory provided, we are not very sure of whether external expansion will be supported. Samsung has so far converted the note into a non expandable memory type device and it is expected that the S7 will face the same fate.
As for the internal storage, 32, 64 and 128 GB models are being expected. The battery is also being expected to be made non removable.
Not much is known about other features that the phone is going to bring but we are pretty sure that the phone will be better than the predecessor and people are actually looking forward to it.
