Skype can be correctly named the grand father of all internet messaging apps. It was one of the first ones to offer messages, video calls and voice calls completely free of cost. The app has continued to hold its user headcount and in fact has seen a rapid rise in the number of users particularly because Microsoft has never shied away from adding new features to the application so users can continue being interested in the software.

In the previous year the company was able to come up with a solution for users with language barriers. Instant translation was something Skype intended to provide to users across the globe so they could stay connected despite difference in language.

Finally Skype has come up with the final version of this feature and it has been prepared to get delivered to users.

This real time translation service has been programmed to be able to support seven different languages. Among them are Mandarin, English, French, German, Italian, Portuguese and Spanish.

Now as you type the messages would keep getting translated to the language of the person you are chatting with so he can understand you without even knowing your language. On the down side this feature is currently available only with Windows users. More languages will also be added in future.

This is not all. More developments to make the app better have been made. Skype and Slack have now been given the option to be integrated further pointing at hipster in the list of languages that Skype can support.

Apart from this Slack users would also be able to take part in a Skype call even if they do not have a Skype id. Slack has a good messaging service but somehow the lack of voice and video tools has caused the app to be less used in some places. Now Slack users will be able to make calls to Skype users if they are able to type “ /skype”.

They would receive a pop up with a link to join the chat. If they are able to click the link then they will able to become a part of the group chat. This feature is available in Windows, Mac, IOS and also Android devices.
