Sony has started rolling out Android 7.1.1 Nougat update for its Xperia X and Xperia X Compact smartphones. According to XperiaBlog, the firmware update comes with a new build number 34.3.A.0.194 and also includes June Android security patches.

The new update along with Android 7.1.1 goodies, also includes several bug fixes and performance improvements as well. Apart than that, upgrading to the latest software brings several features such as app shortcuts and new emojis.

As mentioned, the update has started rolling out only a few hours ago and may take a while before it hits your device. However, you can check out the update manually by heading to Settings -> About Device -> System updates.

Nonetheless to say, your handset should have a minimum charge of 60% before starting the installation process. And, make sure you backup your personal data before you hit the download button for obvious reasons.

Both Sony Xperia X and Xperia X Compact were released last year. The former has a 5-inch FullHD display, a hexa-core Snapdragon 650 processor, 3GB RAM, 32/64G storage, a 23MP rear camera and a 13MP front camera. Meanwhile, the latter has a smaller 4.6-inch HD display, a hexa-core Snapdragon 650 processor, 3GB RAM, 32GB storage, a 23MP rear camera and a 5MP front camera.
