WhatsApp Goes Free For All – Drops $1 Tag

The company has been one of the most popular apps on the stores since its inception. WhatsApp, which was sold to Facebook in 2014 or a near-20 Billion USD deal was actually made by former Facebook employees!

The application comes with various modern-day communication features, and has hundreds of thousands of users actively using it every second! Chances are, that while you read this article, millions of messages would have already been sent! WhatsApp has been coming out with several updates and upgrades recently, and they introduced voice calling as well as a web variant.

In latest news, the company has now announced that the WhatsApp messenger will be going free of cost!

The company originally used to charge a nominal fees of $1 from the users per year, but has now made it official that they are no longer going to charge them for this service.

In a blog post they have also announced that they will soon be working towards helping users connect with businesses using WhatsApp.

The company has announced the decision to make the app free of cost in their blog, giving the following explanation:

“For many years, we’ve asked some people to pay a fee for using WhatsApp after their first year.

As we’ve grown, we’ve found that this approach hasn’t worked well. Many WhatsApp users don’t have a debit or credit card number and they worried they’d lose access to their friends and family after their first year.

So over the next several weeks, we’ll remove fees from the different versions of our app and WhatsApp will no longer charge you for our service.”

This comes in as news of joy for various subscribers of the service, and the company has now made it official that they will no longer charge this token amount from the users, thereby helping the world connect in a much better fashion.
