For the first time, Chromebook users are allowed to add virtual backdrops and blurs to their video feeds starting today. Zoom on Chromebooks may make use of this capability through Chrome’s Progressive Web App. Zoom claims to have created this function in response to several requests from academic institutions. Virtual backdrops may be added to a Zoom conversation, or the background can be blurred as the web software distinguishes between the person and the backdrop.
Breakout Room hosts will also be enabled to include audio in their content sharing. The LTI Pro Integration upgrade for Breakout Rooms allows instructors to allocate rooms to participants in the preparation and divide them into various spaces. Additionally, users will be enabled to create a three-minute video clip. Students inside this Waiting Room would also be eligible to have their names changed by educators.
