With security threats being everywhere across the internet nowadays, apps meant for protecting more than one device at once are indeed needed. Microsoft Defender is one useful app of such kind that can keep your devices safe from cyber threats.

According to Android Police, Microsoft Defender is now expanding its availability to those who have a Microsoft 365 subscription. Therefore, if you have such a subscription, the app is already there, waiting for you to grab and install it at no cost!

Microsoft Defender is able to tackle multiple security issues

Microsoft Defender can be used to take down malware, security issues targeting browsers, as well as other forms of cyberattacks.

Microsoft Defender Antivirus was formerly known as Windows Defender, and it was first released as a downloadable free anti-spyware program for the ‘ancient’ Windows XP operating system. It has later shipped alongside Windows Vista and Windows 7.

The software later became a full antivirus program, and it replaced Microsoft Security Essentials while being part of Windows 8 and other editions of Microsoft’s operating system.

Here’s how Microsoft Defender is described in the Google Play Store:

“Microsoft Defender is a unified online security app for your work and personal life. Microsoft Defender for individuals provides online security for your personal life. For work, Microsoft Defender for Endpoint helps organizations around the world stay more secure.

Sign-in with your personal account1 to access features for Microsoft Defender for individuals. Sign-in with your work2 account to access features for Microsoft Defender for Endpoint.”

Microsoft was even kind enough to explain what the above video is all about in the description:

“Learn how Microsoft Defender for Endpoint (previously Microsoft Defender Advanced Threat Protection (ATP)) delivers preventative protection, post-breach detection, automated investigation, and response for enterprise networks.”

Microsoft Defender is available for Windows PC and macOS, as well as for mobile platforms: Android and iOS.
