Unlike Apple or Google who give simple names to their flagship smartphones, Sony’s XZ Xperia lineup has been a little bit confusing at times. However, it looks like Sony has decided to make things simpler for its fans and the reason why we are saying this is because the press render of the next-gen flagship called Xperia 1 has been leaked.

The smartphone was expected to be called Xperia XZ4, but Sony went with something simpler. Nonetheless, today we are going to take a closer look at the leaked Xperia 1 press render and check out everything there is to know about Sony’s flagship smartphone.

Leaked Press Render

The smartphone’s press render was posted on Twitter by the ever-reliable Evan Blass. The first thing that stands out when we look at this leaked press render is that the smartphone will ship with a full-screen design and a triple camera-setup mounted on the rear side. Furthermore, the smartphone looks great in purple and the sleek design makes the big display pop-out.

Internal Hardware

Even though Sony has yet to announce the official release date for Xperia 1, we already have a pretty good idea of what kind of hardware specs to expect from the next-gen flagship smartphone thanks to previous leaks and rumors.

The new Sony smartphone will ship with a 21:0 screen that is coupled to Qualcomm’s octa-core CPU Snapdragon 855 CPU. This is the most powerful CPU available for smartphones right now and it shows us that Xperia 1 will be able to take care of heavy-duty tasks without any issues.

The powerful CPU is going to be paired with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage space which will probably be expandable via a microSD card. As if these hardware specs weren’t impressive enough, rumor has it that Sony has equipped Xperia 1 with a huge 4,400 mAh battery.
