If you like using Spotify but you don’t like the fact that the app uses too much of your smartphone’s internal storage space or processing power, then you should be pleased to find out that the developers who are in charge of the app have recently released a lightweight version of the music streaming app. The lightweight version is called Spotify Lite and while it might be smaller in size than the original version, it’s just as loud.

Introducing: Spotify Lite

The new Spotify Lite launched yesterday (June 9th) and it weighs in at only 10MB! To make things even better, the app’s software has been optimized to run on lower end smartphones and this is why it only requires a minimum of Android 4.3 or higher operating system in order to run without any problems.

Set Data Limits

While the fact that Spotify Lite is small in size might be nice, this is not the best thing about the lightweight app. What truly makes Spotify Lite stand out is that it offers the option to set a data limit. This option has been designed to make it possible for Spotify Lite users to avoid using up all their mobile data while streaming new music.

Once the user reaches the data limit, Spotify Lite will pop up a notification. Nonetheless, Spotify Lite is currently available in 36 markets across Latin America, Asia, Africa and Middle East. In fact, let’s check out which all the countries that can download Spotify Lite:
