Game sales are going through the roof now that the Christmas Holidays are just around the corner. Even though you might expect PlayStation 4’s God of War to be the bestselling game right now because it won the GOTY (game of the year) award, this is not the case. The game that is topping UK charts is none other than the runner-up for the GOTY award, Red Dead Redemption 2 or RDR2 for short.
Red Dead Redemption 2 is the Bestselling Game in UK
The reports are in and RDR2 is now the bestselling game in the UK. RDR2 has been holding the title of the bestselling game in the US for the past four weeks, but now, RDR2 is extending its reach to Europe as well. The second game bestselling game in the UK is FIFA 19 and the third is Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 which offered a 10 pounds discount for the Christmas Holidays.

What’s great about seeing God of War winning the GOTY award and RDR 2 topping the UK sales charts is the fact that it shows to game developers that they don’t need an online game in order to be successful.
It seems like all game developers are trying to switch their focus towards making online games and introducing microtransactions because it’s easy to make money like this. However, gamers all around the world hate microtransactions and they are asking for more single player RPG titles.
