The security vulnerability that was used in the jailbreak tool was reported by Google’s Project Zero which is a team that Apple leads.
The Fight Against Jailbreak Tools
Apple is now offering up to one million dollars as rewards to security researchers who can prove that they can control an iPhone without any user interaction. That’s not all, Apple is also offering big rewards to all security researchers who can find flaws in iOS. The reason why Apple is doing this is so that it can patch all vulnerabilities so that developers can no longer create jailbreak tools that permit the installation of Cydia.
