We reported last month that Apple’s latest version of iOS 12.2 Beta included a line of code which hinted that AirPods 2 is going to arrive sooner than expected. The line of code was an AirPods 2 shortcut command for Siri which made it pretty clear that Apple is planning to launch the next-gen earbuds during the upcoming months.
The folks at MySmartPrice are now reporting that a trusted Apple source of theirs has stated that AirPods 2 is not only going to arrive in 2019 but that AirPods 2 will also ship with some unique features.
AirPods 2 Special Features
- Enhanced Bass Audio Experience
The Apple insider source said that AirPods 2 will be equipped with a special feature that makes it possible for the wireless earbuds to offer an enhanced bass audio experience. According to the source, Apple has changed the internal hardware of AirPods 2 so that the wireless earbuds can sound better than ever.
- Matte Coating and Grip
One of the most interesting that the Apple insider source said is that AirPods 2 will feature a special matte coating that will improve the grip users have on the wireless earbuds. Knowing that Apple is always the first one to try and innovate its devices by using spectacular designs, the matte coating is highly likely to prove true.
- Health Monitoring Features
Apple launched Watch Series 4 in 2018 and the wearable device is now known as the best smartwatch available on the market. One of the highlight features of Watch Series 4 is the device’s ability to track health specific things such as heart-rate monitoring for example. With that said, the Apple Insider source is saying that we should expect AirPods 2 to feature heart-rate monitoring as well.
- Wireless Charging
The last thing that we want to cover is that AirPods 2 will support wireless charging. This feature was expected to arrive on the original AirPods, but it will now be equipped on AirPods 2.
