However, the game developer did invest some money in advertising the game on launch date and it all paid off.

Even though ten million players might not sound that much when compared to Fortnite which has more than two hundred million players, we still have to give it to Respawn Entertainment because getting ten million players in only a couple of days is an impressive feat. On the other hand, Apex Legends still has a long way to go before it can be considered as Fortnite’s biggest threat.
Investing in Twitch Streamers
We previously mentioned that the only advertisement that Respawn Entertainment did for Apex Legends was on launch day. Right when the game was announced, the most popular streamers on Twitch such as Ninja and Dr. Disrespect logged into the game and started having fun.
Their streams had thousands upon thousands of viewers and they were all in shock to find out that Apex Legends is a free to play game. Therefore, Respawn Entertainment’s choice to go a different route when it comes to game advertising proved to be the right choice.
The Game is Getting Bigger by the Day
The Battle Royale market is usually ruled by Fortnite and PUBG, but not anymore. Apex Legends is here to take over and if its popularity keeps growing as it did until now, we think it’s safe to say that Apex Legends definitely stands a chance at competing against Fortnite and PUBG.
