Remember back in 2017 when Apple announced the AirPower wireless charging pad? This accessory was supposedly going to be launched at the same time with iPhone X, but for some unknown reason, this never happened. Seeing this, Apple fans started hoping that 2018 is going to be the year when they are going to be able to purchase a wireless charging pad from Apple. Just like it happened in 2017, Apple decided to not release AirPower in 2018. With that said, the question that remains is if AirPower will hit the markets this year?

Apple is Working on AirPower

Apple is one of the world’s biggest tech companies and the reason why this matters to us is that lots of people get to see what Apple’s manufacturing plants are up to and they can leak information on the web.

The latest leak to come from Apple’s Chinese hardware supply line is saying that Apple has started the mass manufacturing phase for AirPower. This means that Apple wants to make the wireless charging pad available for purchase in 2019.

Leaked Picture

The information about Apple green lighting the mass manufacturing phase for AirPower comes from the Twitter account “ChargerLAB” which also posted a press render of AirPower. The leaked press render shows that AirPower can charge three devices at the same time which makes it a “must-have” accessory to all Apple fans who own an Apple Watch, iPhone and AirPod wireless earphones.

Expected Release Date

Ming-Chi Kuo is a reliable tech analyst who is known for always being one step ahead of Apple and predicting the company’s next moves. The tech analyst also believes that Apple is going to launch AirPower this year and that it will arrive at the same time that iPhone XI gets launched.
