We have great news for Apple fans today! The Cupertino based tech giant has started rolling out new updates for the beta version of its iOS, macOS, tvOS and watchOS operating systems. Therefore we advise all Apple fans who are enlisted in the beta program to connect their devices to a secure internet connection and to get the new updates as soon as possible.

Apple Rolls Out New Operating System Updates

The new updates are for iOS 12.2, macOS Mojave 10.14.4, tvOS 12.2 and watchOS 5.2. The updates can be downloaded directly through Apple’s developer portal. However, the updates are also being rolled out OTA (over the air) to Apple TV, Apple Watch, iPad, iPhone, iPad Touch and Mac.

What’s New?

Everyone who has downloaded beta updates from Apple knows that the tech giant doesn’t usually go into too much detail when it comes to the patch notes. This is the case for the new updates as well since Apple only made the following statement in the patch notes: “bug fixes and improvements”.

On the other hand, iOS 12.2 ships with a redesigned and bigger UI (user interface) layout for the TV remote control that can be used on Apple TVs. In addition, the new iOS 12.2 beta update also introduces software support for a bunch of third-party TV sets that support AirPlay 2 and HomeKit integration. The companies that produce these TVs are Samsung, Sony and LG.

Introduced Support for AirPods 2

One of the most interesting things that iOS developers have been able to spot in the latest beta update for iOS 12.2 is that the operating system introduces a configuration tool that is specially designed to integrate the not-yet-announced AirPods 2 to Siri. Therefore, this confirms to us that Apple is getting ready to launch the new earphones in the upcoming future.
