Heroes of the Storm or HOTS for short is a MOBA (multiplayer online battle arena) game that is created by Blizzard. The game features all types of cool characters from the some of Blizzard’s most popular games such as World of Warcraft, Starcraft and Diablo.

Nonetheless, the reason why HOTS is making headlines today is because Blizzard’s J. Allen Brack has released an announcement on the company’s official website where he said that HOTS is not going to receive the same full-fledged developer support as it usually does.

Heroes of The Storm is Fading Away

“We’re constantly changing and evolving not only our games, but how we support and grow them. This evolution is vital to our ability to continue doing what we love to do — making great games — and it’s what makes Blizzard, Blizzard. Over the past several years, the work of evaluating our development processes and making hard decisions has led to new games and other products that we’re proud of.” said J. Allen Brack in the announcement.

“We now have more live games and unannounced projects than at any point in the company’s history. We’re also at a point where we need to take some of our talented developers and bring their skills to other projects. As a result, we’ve made the difficult decision to shift some developers from Heroes of the Storm to other teams, and we’re excited to see the passion, knowledge, and experience that they’ll bring to those projects,” added the Blizzard President.

Final Words

From the looks of it, Blizzard doesn’t want to invest any more resources in HOTS and it’s cutting down on the developer support that the game gets. Even though HOTS will still receive updates, the game is fading away. The player base is already small and it will surely get even smaller now that Blizzard announced that it doesn’t care about HOTS anymore.
