If you are enlisted in Apple’s beta program for iOS, then we have some amazing news for you! Apple has started rolling out a brand-new version of iOS 12.2 and it comes with a bunch of cool features, including new Animoji characters that iPhone fans will get to use when the official build of the update gets released. Nonetheless, today we are going to take a closer look at everything that the new iOS 12.2 beta update introduces.

iOS 12.2 – New Beta Update

As previously mentioned, this is a beta version of iOS 12.2. Therefore, regular iPhone fans will need to wait a little more until they can get their hands on it. Apple usually takes between two to three weeks of testing before it decides to release updates OTA (over the air) to everyone. However, everyone who is enlisted in the beta program can get the update right now.

Changed LTE Logo to “5G Evolution”

One of the first things that iPhone fans who decide to install the new iOS 12.2 update will see is that the LTE logo has been changed to the 5G icon. Although, this doesn’t mean that iPhones support 5G networks.

The 5G icon actually stands for “5G Evolution” and AT&T received lots of flak for false advertising because of this icon. However, we have to note that 5G E (evolution) networks are way faster than normal LTE ones.

New Animoji Characters

Now that we covered the change to the LTE icon, let’s get to what all iPhone users are waiting for, new Animoji characters! iPhone fans should be happy to know that iOS 12.2 beta introduces four new Animojis which are: a shark, an owl, a giraffe and a warthog. While the new Animojis might not be a groundbreaking feature by any means, it’s still nice to have them.
