We reported yesterday that a brand-new leak surfaced on the web and it showed that Google is planning to launch a more affordable version of Pixel 3, the Pixel 3 Lite. Fortunately for us and other Android fans, the Russian leakster who somehow managed to get his hands on Pixel 3 Lite has decided to post another picture of the device and to put it side by side with Apple’s iPhone XR.
Affordable Smartphones
Apple launched iPhone XR in September and this smartphone shocked everyone because it is an affordable version of iPhone XS. This is highly uncharacteristic of Apple because the Cupertino based tech giant is infamous for overpricing its products, but it looks like this is not the case.
Nonetheless, it seems like Google has decided to follow in Apple’s footsteps and to also launch an affordable version of its flagship smartphone. Pixel 3 Lite looks just like the original flagship smartphone when it comes to design, but this is not going to be the case in terms of specs. Google will need to compromise in hardware specs in order to make Pixel 3 Lite affordable. Therefore, Pixel 3 Lite will ship with downgraded specs.
Pixel 3 Lite vs iPhone XR
This might be obvious since Google represents Android and Apple iOS, but Pixel 3 Lite and iPhone XR will compete against each other on the tech market. From the looks of it, iPhone XR might have the upper hand in this comparison because its design looks sleeker and the display is significantly bigger.
On the other hand, we can’t really tell which smartphone is going to be more powerful since the hardware specs of Pixel 3 Lite have yet to be revealed. Although, we can be sure that Google is still going to use the Snapdragon 845 CPU that Pixel 3 uses because Pixel 3 Lite needs to have enough power in order to run Android 9.0 Pie.
