Oppo’s A-series of smartphones are some of the company’s most successful devices and therefore, it should come as no surprise that the Chinese based tech giant is looking to refresh the series with Oppo A9. The interesting thing about this new smartphone is that we didn’t have any information about it until earlier today when Oppo listed it on its website ahead of the smartphone’s official launch day.
This is a rather strange way of announcing a new smartphone, instead of hosting a big media event, Oppo decided to simply list the smartphone as available for pre-order on its website. Therefore, today we are going to take a closer look at the design and hardware specs that Oppo A9 has to offer in order to see if it’s worth its $250 price tag.
Sleek Design
The first thing that stands out when we are looking at Oppo A9 is the fact that the smartphone ships with a full-screen design that looks amazing. The great thing about the full-screen design is that it’s usually available only for high-end smartphones. Luckily, Oppo wants to make sure that even affordable smartphones which cost $250 also look great.
Key Hardware Specs
Oppo A9 is going to ship with a massive display that measures in at 6.53-inches. The display uses TFT technology and it has been coated in Corning Gorilla Glass for additional protection. While the display might be impressive, the most powerful hardware part that Oppo A9 has to offer is its MediaTek Helio P70 CPU.
To make things even better, Oppo A9’s processor has been paired with 6GB of RAM and a large 4,020 mAh battery that can last for days on end. The last thing that we want to note about Oppo A9 is that the smartphone is going to ship with 128GB of internal storage space out of the box.
