Everyone doubted that Nintendo Switch would be a successful console when it was first announced because Xbox One and PlayStation 4 have been dominating the gaming industry for a couple of years now. However, Nintendo managed to make its hybrid console a bestselling product. The reason why Nintendo Switch has been so successful is because Nintendo owns lots of great IPs (intellectual properties) such as Mario and Pokemon.

Pokemon Sword and Shield is Here

Talking about Pokemon, Nintendo Switch fans should be happy to know that the Japanese based tech giant has announced that generation eight is closer than expected. Nintendo has released a video trailer for Pokemon Sword and Shield and it looks amazing. The game is scheduled to release this fall and the two minute long trailer gives everyone a glimpse of what’s to come.

New “Galar” Region

There are so many Pokemon games that its difficult to keep up with them all. However, this is one of the most important titles in the series because it’s the first mainline game for console. In addition, Pokemon Sword and Shield is going to introduce a never seen before region called Galar which will have its own fair share of unique Pokemon.

Starter Pokemon

From what we can gather after watching the video trailer for Pokemon Sword and Shield, the first Pokemon that players will get to pick between are Grookey, Scorbunny and Sooble. We don’t know much about the three Pokemon, but not knowing what to expect is going to make the release of Pokemon Sword and Shield even more exciting.

This is the eight generation of Pokemon that Nintendo releases and it follows Pokemon Sun and Moon which arrived on the 3DS back in 2016. Even though we have to wait three years for a new generation to come out, the waiting is all worth it.
