Red Dead Redemption 2 has been out for nearly one week, but this was more than enough time for all gaming critics to rank Read Dead Redemption 2 as a 10/10 game. There aren’t that many other games that received so much praise from critics only days after being released and this speaks volumes about how fun Red Dead Redemption 2 really is.

What makes this game so fun is the freedom of choice that players get to enjoy and the high level of attention that Rockstar Games has put in the game. Talking about freedom of choice, players can do about everything they want in this game starting with playing card games in the casino and ending with robbing trains and getting tons of money.

Be a Silent Killer

Another cool thing about being able to do what you want in the game is that you don’t necessarily need to stick with a six shooter or a shotgun because Rockstar Games has also introduced a bow. Unfortunately, there is a single bow in the game and it’s called the Longarm Back Bow.

Even though the Longarm Back Bow is the only bow that players can get in Red Dead Redemption 2, this item is more than enough because it’s super versatile and it can make any player become a deadly killer. With that said, today we are going to show all Red Dead Redemption 2 fans what they need to do in order to upgrade their bow so that they can improve their hunting skills.

Where to Find the Bow?

The bow is given out as a reward to players right from the start of the game. Therefore, players can access it by simply pressing L1 and equipping it from Arthur Morgan’s inventory. The bow is also bundled with a bunch of arrows which can be used for stealth kills. However, clever players can upgrade those arrows and get better at shooting the bow at the same time.

  • Small Game Arrows

The first arrows that we advise players to get are small game arrows. These arrows can be crafted and they are the weapon of choice when it comes to hunting small animals such as birds, rats, bats, toads, and even snakes!

  • Fire Arrows

Do you love being a bandit in the wild west? Well, there’s no better way to start chaos other than to set the entire world on fire and this can be done with the use of fire arrows. The cool thing about these arrows is that players will get them as rewards after Chapter 2 by playing the game naturally.

  • Improved Arrows

As we previously mentioned, Red Dead Redemption 2 makes it easy for players to get access to fire arrows after finishing Chapter 2. However, this is not the only benefit that finishing Chapter 2 brings. Players who arrive at this point in the story can buy improved arrows from vendors which do a whole lot more damage than the normal one.

  • Poison Arrows

Red Dead Redemption 2 is filled with attention to small details that make the game world feel alive. Red Dead Redemption 2 is also rich in history and the developers have stayed true to history by creating items such as poisoned arrows that were used by American Natives in order to hunt big prey or to disable enemies.

Nonetheless, poison arrows will be made available for purchase after Chapter 2 is finished. We advise all players to give them a try because it makes it easier to take down large animals such as bears or large crowds of bandits against who Arthur Morgan would not usally stand a chance against.

  1. I’ve reached roughly midway into Chapter 3 and still haven’t gotten the opportunity to upgrade my arrows or be able to make fire, poison or any other kind of the normal arrows that I got ..

    • Sadly, the bow is not upgradable. The only thing that you can do about it is to get the improved arrows. Let’s hope that Rockstar Games rolls out a couple new bows via an upcoming patch due to popular demand.
