Nintendo proved in 2017 that Microsoft and Xbox are not dominating the gaming market when it launched Nintendo Switch. Even though Xbox One and PlayStation 4 have been around for a couple of years and they are used by millions of gamers all around the world, Nintendo Switch still managed to become a bestselling console. Well, it looks like the success of Nintendo Switch has inspired Slightly Mad Studios to announce their own gaming console that is scheduled to launch during the upcoming future.

New Gaming Console

The first time that we heard about the Slightly Mad Studios console was a while ago when Ian Bell who is the company’s CEO tweeted about it. Now, that Slightly Mad Studios CEO decided to release additional information about the gaming console such as that it will be stand alone and that it will support VR games at up to 120 frames per second!

VR Support

The feature that stands out the most about the Slightly Mad Studios console is VR support. “It will support most major VR headsets and those upcoming and the specs will be equivalent to a ‘very fast PC 2 years from now’. We’re in early talks with manufacturers of components so we can’t say much more right now other than we have the designs specced out in detail,” said Ian Bell.

Exclusive Titles

From the looks of it, the design for console is already complete and Slightly Mad Studios are just adding the finishing touches. On the downside of things, it doesn’t look like the console is going to receive any exclusive titles. “We think exclusives are ‘exclusionary’ but given that we’ll be shipping a cross platform engine to all developers it will be their choice. As of now we have no plans to pay developers ‘incentives’ to exclude other hardware vendors,” added Ian Bell.
