Even though Windows 7 was released back in 2009, it managed to remain the most popular operating system in the world until last month when it was dethroned by Windows 10. Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like Windows 7 is ever going to make it back because Microsoft has recently announced that Windows 7 has received its last security update.

Microsoft Announces Windows 7’s End Date

“All good things must come to an end, even Windows 7. After January 14, 2020, Microsoft will no longer provide security updates or support for PCs running Windows 7. But you can keep the good times rolling by moving to Windows 10,” said Microsoft in its latest blog post. Microsoft has been trying to push Windows 10 ever since the operating system was launched and it’s doing its best to advertise it at every chance it gets.

Will Windows 7 Live On?

Windows 7 has received its latest security update, but this doesn’t necessarily mean that the operating system is not going to live on. There are still many people who are fans of Windows 7’s design and find it difficult to adjust to Windows 10.

Not just that, but Windows 7 is a great operating system for lower-end PCs and this is why we believe that there will still be thousands of people who will keep using Windows 7 for the years to come.

Windows 10

Before we sign off, we need to mention that everyone should give Windows 10 a try. This is Microsoft’s best operating system yet and it keeps improving every month through new updates.  “Microsoft 365 Business comes with a free upgrade for users with a Windows 7, 8, or 8.1 Pro license on their device. By purchasing Microsoft 365 Business your users can upgrade all of their old Windows Pro licensed devices at no additional cost,” added Microsoft.
