Apple shocked everyone when it first announced that iPhones will no longer feature a 3.5mm headphone jack. However, Apple made it up for this by launching AirPods. These are wireless earphones that offer an immersive sound experience and they feature a sleek Apple design.

Nonetheless, it’s been a few years since the original AirPods launched and Apple is looking to refresh them this year. With that said, new reports are saying that Apple is getting ready to launch its brand-new AirPods 2 in the first half of 2019 and that they will feature “health monitoring features”.

Apple is Getting Ready to Launch AirPods 2 Soon

The folks at Digitimes are the ones who reported that AirPods 2 is going to arrive sooner than expected. “In terms of wireless headsets, Apple is set to release AirPods 2 sometime in the first half of 2019, and the new wireless earbuds with discrete designs to carry health monitoring functions are expected to receive enthusiastic market responses. Other brand vendors have all planned to launch wireless headsets in the year, with market competition seen to heat up soon.”

Wireless Charging Support

We don’t have that much information about AirPods 2, but what we do know is that it will support wireless charging. While this might not be a groundbreaking feature by any means, it’s still a nice feature to have.

We should note that Ming-Chi Kuo who is a reputable tech analyst is predicting that AirPods 2 will feature Bluetooth 5.0 and a revised W-series chip. These are small improvements and they will help AirPods 2 provide users with a much better sound experience. Additionally, Ming-Chi Kuo has a stellar track record of predicting Apple’s every move and this leads to believe that AirPods 2 will indeed feature Bluetooth 5.0 support.
