DICE announced that Battlefield V fans are going to receive their first update (DLC) called “Overture” on December 4th. The update contains a new “emotional” story that focuses on the crew of a Tiger tank who is isolated in enemy territory. Unfortunately, DICE released a statement today announcing that the update is being pushed back. With that said, today we are going to check out the reason why DICE has decided to delay the update and what are the features that the update will eventually introduce.

Overture Has Been Delayed

“Rather than create issues in the game, we’re holding the update for the time being,” said DICE. From the looks of it, the features that the new update introduces were causing software issues and DICE doesn’t want to take any risks. Even though Battlefield V fans need to wait a little more before they can get their hands on the update, we have to give praise to DICE for making the right decision.

New Map

The “Overture” update will introduce a new map called Panzerstorm. AS the map’s name clearly implies, the map will focus on tank combat and according to DICE, the map will support up to 17 tanks that will be fighting each other at the same time.

Emotional Story

The reason why the “Overture” update is so highly anticipated is because it will also introduce a new single-player story. As previously mentioned, the story is quite “emotional” and it follows the story of a German tank crew who is stuck in the middle of enemy territory.

Does this sound familiar? That is because the story is similar to the plot of the movie Fury (2014) starring Brad Pitt and Shia LeBeouf. On the other hand, Battlefield V’s tank story focuses on German soldiers and not Americans like in the movie.
