Last year Google promised that it will innovate the gaming industry by launching a new streaming service called Stadia. The Android parent has released additional information about Stadia’s services during this past couple of months but the one thing that Google didn’t want to talk about is how much the subscription service will cost and if there will be multiple tiers. Well, it looks like Director of Product Andrey Doronichev couldn’t keep the prices a secret anymore because he just revealed how much Stadia’s standard subscription will cost. Stadia Pro Subscription Costs $10 Andrey Doronichev revealed in a recent Reddit AMA (ask me anything) post that the Pro subscription tier for Stadia will cost $10. While some might think that $10 is a bit too much, Andrey Doronichev reassured everyone that the price of the subscription is more than worth it by explaining that for $10, subscribers will get access to lots of benefits. “To be clear, Stadia Pro is not ‘Netflix for Games’ like some people have mentioned. A closer comparison would be like Xbox Live Gold or PlayStation Plus. The Pro subscribers get 4K/HDR streaming, 5.1 sound, exclusive discounts and access to some free games. Roughly one free game per month give or take. Starting with Destiny 2,” said the Director of Product. Discount for Games On the downside of things, Andrey Doronichev also revealed that the Stadia Pro subscription is not going to give users access to game discounts. However, this was to be expected since this isn’t the most expensive subscription tier. “But hey, Stadia Base gives you free access to the state-of-the-art gaming hardware in our datacenter. You spend your money to buy games you want”, added Andrey Doronichev. Moreover, everyone who wants to check out the full Reddit AMA thread can find it here.
