Instagram is always looking for new ways to improve the already premium user experience that the app offers. This is one of the main reasons why Instagram’s user base keeps growing and why everyone is leaving Facebook and joining Instagram instead. Nonetheless, the latest features that Instagram has been spotted testing changes the way people can swipe through Stories and the Explore tab.

Instagram is Testing a New Feature

As everyone already knows, Instagram’s coolest feature is Stories. This feature is inspired from Snapchat and nearly everyone who is on Instagram uses it to show off highlights of their day, funny stuff and much more.

The latest feature that Instagram is testing makes it possible for users to move forwards and backwards through Stories just by tapping the left or the right side of the screen instead of having to swipe the screen. This might not be a groundbreaking feature by any means, but its still a nice addition that proves to us Instagram is constantly evolving.

When Will The New Feature Roll Out?

The new feature is currently being tested by a limited number of users who were presented with a notification earlier today that let them know to send feedback. The notification contained the following message: “Tap through posts, just like you tap through stories”.

Instagram was asked about the new feature and it released the following statement: “We’re always testing ways to improve the experience on Instagram and bringing you closer to the people and things you love”.

On the downside of things, we can’t know for sure when Instagram is planning to release the new feature. First of all, Instagram’s developers need to check out the feedback they are receiving and see if the new feature is worth replacing the way people already scroll through Stories.
