A new Nintendo Switch update is being rolled out via OTA (over the air) channels today and it comes with a much-anticipated feature. The new update is changing the version of Nintendo Switch’s software to 8.0.0 and the most important feature that it introduces is the ability to transfer individual game files saves between systems. This is a great addition to Nintendo Switch because players could only move all their user and save data between different Nintendo Switch units.

Nintendo Switch Update

The Nintendo Switch fans who are going to benefit the most from this update is those who share their console with their friends or family members and don’t usually create separate profiles. Therefore, the new feature that Nintendo Switch’s latest update introduces is enabling players to take their latest Super Mario Odyssey savefile, for example, and then transfer it to the new Nintendo Switch model that is rumored to launch during the upcoming months.

New User Icons

The new update also comes with a total of 15 new user icons. These icons contain images from popular games such as Splatoon 2 and Yoshi’s Crafted World.

Furthermore, Nintendo Switch players will now be able to set their region to Hong Kong, South Korea or Taiwan which were unavailable prior to the update.

Last but not least, the update brings a new zoom feature and a couple of parental restrictions for the VR mode. From the looks of it, Nintendo is getting the console ready for the upcoming Labo VR Kit which is scheduled to come out during the next couple of days.

Full VR Mode

Since we are talking about VR features, we need to mention that Nintendo Switch is scheduled to receive a major update that introduces full VR modes for Super Mario Odyssey and Zelda: Breath of the Wild.
