Xiaomi announced earlier this month that its subsidiary “Redmi” is going to launch a new smartphone that is going to take the tech industry by storm. Xiaomi added that the new smartphone will ship with a 64MP camera which impressed everyone. Furthermore, Xiaomi didn’t want to reveal too many details about the upcoming smartphone.
Luckily, we don’t have to wait anymore because Xiaomi has finally decided to announce that the next-generation smartphone is called Redmi Note 8 Pro and that it will launch on August 29th.
Redmi Note 8 Pro
Xiaomi has posted a new press render (featured image) of Redmi Note 8 Pro and it confirms the smartphone’s official launch date and a couple of highlight features. On the downside of things, the press render also shows that Redmi Note 8 Pro will not feature an in-display fingerprint scanner as expected and instead, the smartphone’s fingerprint scanner will be located beneath the rear cameras.
August Launch Date
Xiaomi is known for always launching great smartphones during the Holiday season because that is when gadgets are selling the best. Well, it looks like Xiaomi is making an exception to that rule because Redmi Note 8 Pro is going to launch on August 29th. The cool thing is that Redmi Note 8 Pro will not ship alone, it will launch alongside the standard Redmi Note 8 model which will more than likely not feature a 64MP camera.
The last thing that we want to mention about Redmi Note 8 Pro is that according to rumors, Xiaomi might equip the new smartphone with the highly anticipated MIUI 11 operating system. The rumors started when Xiaomi posted a picture on social media that showed two displays positioned face-to-face in an orientation that looked like a disguised “11”.
