At first, it seemed impossible to run the Google Play app on Android phones without seeing the “Movies and TV” tab present there as well. But you know that life in general and tech, in particular, are full of surprises!

According to 9to5Google, the tab is finally beginning to disappear from Androids’ official marketplace. But you know what they say that you have to keep going in life, so users will have to do it without the possibility of searching for TV shows and movies in the Play Store. But that doesn’t mean that Google doesn’t offer an alternative, which might be even better!

You can still choose Google TV

Google TV is the alternative we’re talking about. Just go ahead and explore it to see that we’re right!

While the “Movies and TV” tab will disappear from the Google Play Store, the marketplace will only focus on three big tabs: Games, Apps, and Books.

Google made the announcement back in March, entitling it “Play Movies & TV is moving to Google TV,” where the tech giant wrote:

“Starting in May 2022, the Google TV app will be your home for buying, renting, and watching movies and shows on your Android mobile device or tablet. On the Google Play app, Movies & TV will no longer be supported. Google Play will continue to be your store for apps, games, and books. On Google TV, you will find the same experience you are used to on Google Play Movies & TV with the latest new releases, rentals, deals, and great recommendations for you. “

Later on, Google updated the post by writing:

“Update: Movies and TV is now in the process of being removed from the Google Play app”

What do you think about Google’s new decision? Can you live without having the “Movies and TV” tab in the Google Play Store?
