Metro Exodus Will Arrive on Fortnite’s Epic Store Instead of Steam

We reported last month that Epic Games, the maker of Fortnite, has launched its own game library. The game library is called the Epic Store and it has been designed to compete directly against Valve’s Steam. To everyone’s surprise, the Fortnite maker has been having lots of success and the reason behind this is simple, the Epic Store offers a much better deal for developers than Valve does by taking only 12% of the game profits while Valve takes a 30% chunk from all games.

Metro Exodus Will Arrive on the Epic Store

Nonetheless, Metro Exodus is the next game that is going to arrive on the Epic Store. This is a big win for Epic Games because Metro Exodus is a highly anticipated PC title and everyone who will want to download it will need to access the Epic Store.

“Important Announcement – we’re partnering with Epic to bring Metro Exodus to the Epic Store. This partnership will allow Deep Silver to invest in the future of the Metro series and the development team at 4A Games,” said Deep Silver’s announcement on Twitter.

Metro Exodus is Taken Off Steam

The interesting thing about this announcement from Deep Silver is that Metro Exodus was listed as available for pre-order on Steam until today. Deep Silver has said that everyone who has pre-ordered the game from Steam will still get the game. Not only that, but Deep Silver also confirmed that future DLCs will arrive on Steam.

Steam Responds to Epic Store

“We think the decision to remove the game is unfair to Steam customers, especially after a long pre-sale period. We apologize to Steam customers that were expecting it to be available for sale through the February 15th release date, but we were only recently informed of the decision and given limited time to let everyone know,” said Steam in the page for Metro Exodus.
