It looks like Huawei is feeling threatened by the fact that Apple revealed three new iPhones on September 12th. The reason we are saying this is because Huawei has decided to reveal Y9 Plus yesterday. No one expected this smartphone to make an appearance and this big surprise reveal is Huawei’s way of responding to Apple. The question that remains is, does Huawei Y9 Plus have what it takes to compete against the likes of iPhone XS?

Huawei Y9 Plus

As previously mentioned, Huawei took the smartphone industry by surprise when it revealed Y9 Plus. This is a high-end smartphone that will hold the title of being Huawei’s flagship device and it will compete against iPhone XS and Galaxy Note 9. With that said, today we are going to check out its specs and see if its powerful enough to beat Apple and Samsung’s flagships.

Leaked Specs

Even though Huawei didn’t want to go into too much detail when it revealed the official press renders for Y9 Plus, we already know that this smartphone will ship with a massive 6.5-inches LCD display thanks to previous leaks. Furthermore, the display offers a high pixel resolution of 1080 x 2340.

When it comes to hardware power, Huawei Y9 Plus is quite impressive since it’s powered by a Kirin 710 CPU. This is an octa-core mobile processor that clocks at 2.2GHz and to make things even better, the processor is also paired with 4GB or 6GB of RAM, depending on the model.

Camera Setups and Fingerprint Scanner

We should also note that Huawei Y9 Plus ships with a 6MP + 2MP camera setup on the front side and a premium 13MP + 2 MP camera setup on the rear side. Another exciting feature that Huawei Y9 Plus will have to offer is a fingerprint scanner that is mounted on the back side.
