Everyone who has played Red Dead Redemption 2 will agree with us when we say that this is one of the best games ever made. Rockstar Games took eight years to developer Red Dead Redemption 2, but it was all worth it in the end. The reason why we are saying this is because Red Dead Redemption 2 features such an immersive world with attention to small details that you will be blown away!
Another cool thing about the new game is the fact that it’s fairly historically accurate. In fact, Red Dead Redemption 2 is so historically accurate that Rockstar Games has been sued for using the Pinkerton name.
The Pinkertons are Suing Red Dead Redemption 2
For those who haven’t played Red Dead Redemption 2, Arthur Morgan (the protagonist) and his band of outlaws are running away from a security company called Pinkerton right from the start of the game.
Without giving any spoilers away, the Pinkertons get a bad rep inside the game and from the looks of it, this was more than enough for the Pinkerton Consulting & Investigations (which is a subsidiary firm of Securitas AB) to send a cease-and-desist order for Red Dead Redemption 2.
Famous Detective Villains
The Pinkertons were two famous detective villains from the 19th century and this is why Rockstar Games has introduced them in Red Dead Redemption 2. However, the firm created by the two detectives in the wild west is still around and it’s owned by the Swedish company Securitas AB.
Rockstar Games Responds
The developers of Red Dead Redemption 2 didn’t waste any time and they instantly responded to the lawsuit by stating the Pinkerton is simply trying to make a profit from their own game and that the defamation clauses cannot be supported in court. Therefore, the Pinkertons are not going to win the lawsuit.
